ABOUT
Hello, I’m David Gallagher, a South African multidisciplinary designer and creative entrepreneur. I design using bold typography, raw textures, and pushing the boundaries just enough to keep things interesting. I’m drawn to work that stands out and tells a story, whether that’s through logos, clothing design, brand identity, packaging, posters, social media, and so on.
Over the past four years, I’ve worked in branding and advertising, where I’ve learned how to balance creativity with strategy, ensuring that great design also gets the results. Outside of agency experience, I run my own studio, The Workbench, where I have the freedom to experiment, collaborate with diverse clients, and push my creativity in new directions.
Design is just one part of what I do. I’m also involved in event curation, digital brand management, and photography, all of which influence my design work and help me see the bigger picture when it comes to building experiences that connect with people.
At the heart of it all, I care about making work that feels thoughtful, a little unexpected, and true to the people it's for.

WORK PROCESS
1: Design Brief
Outline the details of your project. Whether you have a clear vision or need some guidance, we’ll discuss your goals, target audience, and preferences.
I’ll aim to understand your values, what inspires you, and what you’d like to avoid. This step ensures we’re aligned and provides the foundation for the project.

2: Quotation
Based on the brief, I’ll provide you with a quote outlining the deliverables, timelines, and costs.
A deposit will be required to confirm the project, ensuring both parties are committed to moving forward, unless it is a quick and small project.

3: Research
This is where the creative process begins! I’ll research your industry, competitors, and design trends to create a mood board that inspires you.
From there, I’ll develop initial concepts that balance aesthetics with functionality, staying true to the design brief.

4: Feedback
I’ll present the initial concepts to you for review. This is your opportunity to provide feedback, share your thoughts, and discuss any adjustments.
Clear and constructive feedback at this stage is key to refining the design.

5: Revisions
With your feedback in mind, I’ll make the necessary changes to the design. We’ll collaborate until the design fully aligns with your vision.
Revisions will follow the agreed scope outlined in the quote.

6: Final Delivery
Once you’re delighted with the design, I’ll prepare and deliver the final files in the required formats.
At this stage, the remaining balance will be due, and you’ll receive everything you need to start using your new design!
